The Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve is a conservation area in the Karamoja subregion of northeastern Uganda. It is the second-largest conservation protected area in Uganda
Pian Upe was established as a game (wildlife) reserve in the 1960s. Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve is one of Uganda's newly popular tourist destinations with a raw wilderness and beautiful scenery.
The Reserve is part of the Mount Elgon Conservation Area (MECA) which also include Mount Elgon National park.

Getting to Pian Upe
Getting to Pian Upe is mainly by road transfer. The wildlife reserve can easily be accessed by road from Kampala via Mbale and Soroti towns and the drive takes around 8 hours.
Pian Upe is sometimes included with a long trip going to Kidepo Valley National Park, in which case it can be in the way to Kidepo or back to Kampala.
